Navigate and browse your dental websites. Do you find the experience enjoyable? Or, did you have a hard time opening pages and getting the information you think your patients will want to know? Many web owners don’t do this with their website. They don’t look at it from the perspective of someone who’s browsing it for the first time. Instead, they continue to add elements they think their web visitors want to see, not knowing that these design elements could be preventing their visitors from having a good experience on the website.

Test the Site

The first thing you want to do is test the website. Take note of what works and what doesn’t work. Make sure that you tried to visit every web page on the website. Try to visit an old blog post from a year ago. Can you still access it? Can you still see the images? How about the contact us page? Is the information there still up to date?

Remove Broken Links

There could be broken links somewhere on your website. Make sure to remove these or update them as needed. Broken links can especially be found in older blog posts. You might have created a backlink to an already non-existent web page. Change the path to the link. You can either remove it completely or update it with a new one.

Update Blog Posts

Older blog posts can be updated. That’s the beauty of dental websites. If you have new dental cleaning techniques you want to share with your patients, you can simply refer to an old blog post and put on the new information there.

Change Images

Before you realized the importance of media and SEO on websites, you were using stock images of people smiling and showing their teeth, right? Revisit some of these web pages. Maybe this time that you have your own original photos, you can upload them and change the older photos on your website. These will give your site a boost. Search engines such as Google will rank your site better with better-quality and original images.

Use Metadata

When search engines crawl your dental websites, they are looking at the metadata. That’s why you need to use your site’s metadata to inform Google of the information users can find on your website. That’s what metadata is for. Visit it once in a while to update the information there and make them more relevant.
